The Duke of Ediburgh’s Award
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a youth awards programme founded in the United Kingdom in 1956 by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Since then it has presence in over 144 nations worldwide. The award recognises juveniles and young adults for devoting their spare time to self-development and well being tasks such as the development of physical activity, skills and dedication to working within the local community.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is available to all 14-24 year olds, regardless of their background. Every day, more than 1,600 young people embark upon their journey.
Online Record Book – The Next Generation
Together with OKIN, Inloop provides worldwide solutions for millions of participants around the globe. The youngsters need a tool to support their commitment, a place where to insert logs, images, observations and a place where to select the activities and glide through the workflow seamlessly.
The Award leaders also need a way to quickly respond to participants. Not only have we completely revised all the processes and workflows, but we have also designed the new system from scratch and developed all the nuts and bolts that gives this app such strong functionality. The New Generation ORB consists of web portals and several mobile applications for participants, their leaders and also supporting roles from National units and the Award Foundation headquarters.
It is challenging to harmonise the requirements from people worldwide but we’ve used modern tools for collaborating such as Invision to wireframe and collect the feedback from the stakeholders in order to find a way for everybody to be satisfied.
