The Duke of Ediburgh’s Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is a youth awards programme founded in the United Kingdom in 1956 by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Since then it has presence in over 144 nations worldwide.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is available to all 14-24 year olds and is the world’s leading youth achievement award. It equips young people for life regardless of their background, culture, physical ability, skills and interests. Doing the Award is a personal challenge and not a competition against others; it pushes young people to their personal limits and recognises their achievements.

Since its launch over 60 years ago, the Award has inspired millions of young people to transform their lives. Through non-formal education, the Award can play a critical role in a young person’s personal development and is achievable by any 14-24 year old who wants to take up the challenge.

Online Record Book – Next Generation

Together with OKIN, Inloop provides worldwide solutions for thousands of participants around the globe. Participants need a tool to support and track their commitment, a place to select and record their activity logs, images, observations and glide through the workflow seamlessly.

The Award Leaders also need a way to quickly respond to their participants. Not only have we completely revised all the processes and workflows, but we have also designed the new system from scratch and developed all the nuts and bolts that gives this solution such strong functionality. ORB Next Generation consists of web portals and several mobile applications for participants, their Award Leaders and also supporting roles from National Award Operator’s and the Award Foundation.

It is challenging to harmonise the requirements from users worldwide, but we’ve used modern tools for collaborating such as Invision to wireframes and collect the feedback from the stakeholders in order to find a solution that meets for everybody needs.
